    Did you know that the capacity of the brain to absorb new learning peaks at age 3? Scientists have learned that a toddler’s brain develops over one hundred trillion brain synapses. A brain synapse is the "wiring" between two brain cells that grasps new learning. The more the synapses, the more your brain will learn! It is during this time that the human brain has the highest potential for new learning in its lifetime. Recognizing shapes, drawing, singing and playing with toys are all examples of behaviors your child learns in the first few years of life. By their third birthday, your child should be able to do many things, including throw a ball overhand, feed themselves, ride a tricycle, balance on one foot or copy a circle, just to name a few. And by age 4, your child will begin knowing their first and last name, following family rules, recognizing colors, eating by themselves, dressing themselves, etc.

Malaysian Education Blueprint 2013-2025

September 11, 2012 in Malaysia was an anticipated event, marked by the launch of the preliminary report Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025, promising “Three Waves of Changes”.
The blueprint is the roadmap to transform Malaysian education and to ensure that the nation has one of the best systems of education in the world. In the interest of the future, the Education Blueprint hopes to foster the coalition of the willing across the political divide.
Malaysia’s educational strength is the cumulative developmental strength of the system as a whole, infrastructure and all. In terms of leadership at the political level, the strength is the cumulative strength of political leaders who continue to champion the cause of education through their careers.
The Prime Minister has been the Minister of Education. The Deputy Prime Minister has also championed education throughout his career. The education system now has a critical mass of educators who are specialists in the major fields of education. Professional educational associations, teachers’ unions, parent-teacher associations and other non-governmental organisations have responded to educational concerns seriously.
Now there is the alignment of political will, professional will and societal will to ensure that future generations have the best education possible. The basic model of educational planning focus is “access, equity, and efficiency”. Malaysian educational planners are mindful and have added two other important foci, “quality and unity”.
The elaborated model used by Malaysia now is “access, quality, equity, efficiency and unity”. The mindfulness is evidence that we do adopt and adapt according to the realities, priorities and stages of development of our society.
Also, the thrust on public accountability is explicitly recognised. The attributes and aspirations for every student focus on the following: bilingual (and preferably trilingual) proficiency, mastery of relevant and mature knowledge, dynamic thinking skills, robust leadership skills, ethics and spirituality, and national identity.
Educational development is always a matter of focus and refocus, targeting the moving target of development, creating opportunities for every person to benefit from what the educational system offers across the life-span.
The earlier and immediate past Educational Development Plans 2001-2010 and Educational Development Master Plan (2006-2010), together with policy initiatives not in the plans, are still being implemented.
In continuity of the earlier road map, the Education Blueprint suggests 11 thrusts (symbolic of Sept 11!) as follows:
1. Equal access to quality education of international standard;
2. Ensuring every child is proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English;
3. Developing values/virtues-driven Malaysians;
4. Transforming the teaching profession as a profession of choice;
5.Ensuring high-performing school leaders in every school;
6. Decentralising decision-making to solve local problems,
7. Leveraging information, communication and technology to scale up quality learning;
8. Transforming ministry delivery capabilities and capacities;
9. Enhancing partnership with parents, community and the private sector;
10. Maximising student outcomes for every ringgit of investment; and
11. Increasing transparency for direct public accountability.

Summary about who is Glenn Doman??

GLENN DOMAN is the founder of The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential to which parents from every continent have been finding their way for more than a half of a century. He and The Institutes are famous for their pioneering work with brain-injured children and for their work in early development for well children.

In addition to dealing intimately with more than twenty thousand families over the last fifty years, he has strongly influenced millions of families through the
book What To Do About Your Brain-Injured Childand the creation of the groundbreaking Gentle Revolution Series of books and materials that teach parents how to teach their babies at home.

Glenn Doman has lived with, studied, or worked with children in more than one hundred nations, ranging from the most civilized to the most primitive.

He was distinguished for outstanding heroism in action during World War II and was knighted by the Brazilian government in 1966 for his services to the children of the world.

Glenn Doman is the principle lecturer for the many courses given by The Institutes for the parents of well children and brain-injured children. When he is not lecturing in Philadelphia or around the world, he is nose-to-nose with parents and children, discovering better ways to make hurt kids well and well kids more capable.

HE'S NO LONGER A STRANGER FOR ME!

instead, i'd love to know him better as my part time lover in special education.

i do interested with his approaches towards special kids. tremendously great!!

yawning...off to my soft bed now. :)

Here I Bring To You,.. Mr Glenn Doman !

Bismilahirrahamnirahim..

It's already 1.16 a.m late at night.. l'm burning the midnight oil here :(

Okay, seeing all my classmates posted about this figure of early childhood, i was called to do so.
furthermore, Puan Zuraidah already discussed about him in previous class.

Honestly writing here,..im so sad of myself because i had never heard about this Glenn Doman!

                                                     Oh Noo!

I am more familiar with other figures like Howard Gardner, Maria Montessori, Vygotsky, Skinner and so on.

                                                     HAHA.

 i feel so good by writing "so on".. it's like i do know lots of early childhood figures but that's not it!
 i'm saving and covered myself a lot by doing this...

                                                   The saddest part is...

                                                   jeng jeng jeng....!

When i first saw his "formal" picture, i thought he was Colonel Sanders! the KFC founder, in real life!

                                                   SPOT ANY DIFFERENCE?

Finally a Blog!

Bismilahirahmanirrahim...Assalamualaikum..Alhamdulilah..

Finally i got this blog. Thanks to my classmate Kak Mira for making this to me..
seriously i have no idea what a blog is all about until i owned this blog. i know website better! HAHA
it's kinda a place for online shopping right?
i'm sure i'm the latest one to have a blog. which is on Sunday.
I've been waiting since Thursday. There were many obstacles in creating this blog.

okay im done with mumbling!

i decided to make this blog more like an easy way to communicate with my silent readers. So, when u read this, u will feel like u're talking to me face to face. it's not like u're reading a boring educational book. :)

Whatever it is, I did this as my lecturer wanted us to do it as a part of our learning process for our subject in this 6th semester (I'm in my third year already!! yeeehaaa).

It was "Perancangan Program dan Strategi Pengajaran" lectured by Puan Zuraidah Abdullah.

Basically it teaches us how to plan a better program in teaching and how to have a good strategy in teaching especially to teach small kids...

ohhh..by the way, ..

I'm a future childhood teacher and I'm taking Early Childhood Education in the University of Malaya.

Call me teacher ika please.. :D

sounds good haaa??

In shaa Allah I'll be updating newer post regarding this subject besides giving my opinion about what's going on in early childhood in my point of view and my daily experiences with this issue.

I do hope this blog will not only exist just because of my study needs. I'll make it as my platform to spread and share anything about children..

That's all for the beginning. we'll meet again in next post! keep knowing me bloggers!
